Decantation is procedure in which a mixture is separated. A decanter is used to be able to aid in the decantation process of decantation for liquids that would typically contain sediments and they are typically used as serving containers for wine. They vary in shape and in size but they are usually made up of inert materials such as glass and they will be able to hold one standard bottle of wine of about three quarters of a liter. Wine decanters are ornate and come with a lid helps in decanting. Most of them are tall and have upright shapes and a typically made of glass so that they people can observe the process of decanting. Not only is good for wine, but the can be used for other beverages also like cognac and single malt whiskey. The Riedel duck decanter has been around for years. It is a hand-made, blown by mouth and leaded crystal decanter that resembles the shape of duck. Because it is wider and flatter than most decanters, it allows a lot of surface area so that the wine will be aerated and it becomes a lot easier to pour. One advantage of using a decanter is that you allow the liquid to breathe. Riedel Duck decanters are one of the best decanters there is in the market today.

The Riedel Duck decanter helps in bringing out the best in wine regardless of the vintage. By decanting older wines for a short time helps in improving the wine’s clarity and insures that the sediments found in the wine that have developed over time to stay in the decanter vessel so that it is not consumed by a wine drinker. Younger wine open up beautifully when they are decanted for a long time before being served. Riedel duck decanters are made out of crystal and hand washing is required.
